DC and IDW teamed up for a comic called Love Is Love, to honor victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. All the proceeds go to a charity, Equality Florida, that has a fund for families and survivors of the attack. Most of the articles about it only mention the men who are involved, but Gail Simone has said on twitter that she wrote a story for it, and the cover is by one of Sam’s favorite artists, Elsa Charretier. It comes out December 21st.

Pottermore released a new quiz, to discover your Patronus. Anika got a DRAGON!!! This is the most accurate result ever because she literally uses dragons to make her brave. Maleficent and Lily in Once Upon a Time, Toothless, Hiccup, and Valka in How to Train Your Dragon, and most often Daenerys in Game of Thrones.

The mantra Anika tells herself when she is overwhelmed by feelings of doubt and fear (aka when the Dementors have got her down!) is “I have never been nothing, I am the blood of the dragon.”

Hillary Clinton was on Zach Galifinakis’ parody talk show Between Two Ferns. Politics aside, Sam thinks she displayed some pretty good comic timing during a few of the bits.

Marvel assigned an Avenger to every state as part of their launch for U.S.Avengers.  This is pretty silly, and annoying if you work at a smaller comic book store, but it delights Anika.  In past years Anika has been voted “most likely to be a covert operative” by her friends and relations so Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow being assigned to her home state of Connecticut only makes sense.

This plus the dragon (No, but seriously, Anika’s macbook and iPad and iPhone are named after dragons and it says ‘secretly a dragon’ in her author bio!) means Anika’s chaos powers are ON POINT this week.

New character posters were released for the upcoming Power Rangers movie and they show the Zords, and seeing the Ranger-to-Zord scale is SO COOL. Sam is cautiously optimistic about the movie, but these posters are pretty great.
