Week In Review

Week in Review

There’s a new trailer for the Star Wars anthology film, Rogue One and it mostly speaks for itself:

Anika’s in love with the entire cast and basically everything about this trailer and this film seems geared to push her buttons. Sam’s a little disappointed that we’re bringing more daddy issues into the Star Wars universe, but she’s going to go see it opening weekend and she’s almost certainly going to enjoy it.

New stories in the same universe are all the rage. Yesterday, Anika attended the Fantastic Beasts Global Fan Panel Event and now she’s obsessed with getting a niffler.

Look how cute he is! Wee baby platypus-koala, let Anika love you.

Here is a picture of Maggie Sawyer smirking at Alex Danvers in an upcoming episode of Supergirl. Sam is very, very excited about this picture, and about Maggie Sawyer in general, and about the sort of Renee Montoya vibes she’s giving off.

Also, they released the first image of Amber Heard as Mera, and she looks pretty great.

In general, Sam caught up on a lot of comics over the weekend and is current on most of the Rebirth titles she’s following. She highly recommends Detective Comics, The Flash and Green Arrow, if you’ve ever had any interest in the characters involved and are looking for a hopping on point. Also Deadman is a delight.

Anika attended New York Comic Con last weekend where she passed out buttons for NerdsForHer, cosplayed Olivia Benson, saw the first half of the Emerald City pilot (you want to see it), went through the Starfleet Academy Experience at the Intrepid Museum, met up with friends and chatted with awesome warrior women from all over, fell in love with the Shadowhunters cast all over again, and purchased a beautiful print of Padmé from Missy Pena. More people need to include Padmé and Anika will buy it all to prove it!
